We are honoured to have received the Innovative Lighthouse Award for an innovative procurement process for the Aarhus ReWater project as the only water utility.
We are grateful and honoured to have received the Innovative Lighthouse Award for an innovative procurement process for the Aarhus ReWater project. Our chief engineer, Per Overgaard Pedersen, received the award at the BlueTech Forum 2023 in Edinburgh as the only water utility on the 17th of May.
Aarhus ReWater is our coming new wastewater treatment plant, which we aim to establish as the world’s most resource-efficient facility by 2030. However, our establishment of an innovative strategy began already in 2016. To make a long story short, we began with company speed dating and then invited some of these companies to provide preliminary proposals. After an evaluation, a team was selected to proceed with the next phase of planning.
The project is now in the second phase, where the preliminary design is being developed, with a focus on setting up a resource recovery plant fulfilling the overall project goal: Climate and energy neutrality by 2030 after commissioning phase. We feel very proud that our process has had an innovation degree high enough to be awarded.
