Innovation in utility partnerships

Globalisation is an important focus area for Aarhus Vand. Our purpose is to spread national solutions to the world and bring new knowledge back home. Global partnerships ensures knowledge transfer and supports our vision of creating health through the supply of clean water. Through innovation and cooperation with utilities from all over the world we can create the best climate-neutral solutions for the people and the planet.

Net Zero Partnership with the UK and Australia

Through the Net Zero Partnership with Severn Trent in the UK and Melbourne Water in Australia we are pooling our efforts to reach our carbon goals faster. We work together to leverage and accelerate our progress to zero emissions by undertaking complimentary research work and building each other’s knowledge and data.

Collaboration with the world's largest WWTP in Chicago

Both in Chicago and Aarhus there is a desire to minimize the climate impact from wastewater treatment plants. Therefore, a collaboration has been established with Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago, enabling knowledge of new technology and solutions to flow smoothly between Denmark and one of the world's largest wastewater treatment plants in the US.

Innovative collaboration with Californian utility

A Memorandum of Understanding between Aarhus Vand and Moulton Niguel Water District (MNWD) marks the beginning of a strategic collaboration on innovative solutions for global water challenges. The utilities will collaborate on innovations in wastewater treatment, energy optimization and production, smart metering on water usage information, opportunities for potable reuse, alternative water supplies, and reduction of water loss.

Portuguese wastewater company Águas do Tejo Atlântico

In 2022 we signed a cooperation agreement with the largest Portuguese wastewater company Águas do Tejo Atlântico, which serves 23 municipalities on the west coast, including Lisbon. Together we can develop solutions where we utilize resources in the wastewater to a degree not seen before. Knowledge sharing between the partners, training and exchange of employees supports this mission.
