Water Living Lab is an interdisciplinary knowledge and innovation environment. It provides the opportunity to develop, test and demonstrate water technology solutions supporting a sustainable and resource-proven supply.

Who can use Water Living Lab

Danish water tech companies, startups and knowledge institutions can benefit from Water Living Lab. The Lab offers partnership and testing facilities for  solutions in the development phase or that are close to market launch.

Together we can increase the innovation height and accelerate a process towards market readiness. Strong cooperative relationships are established to support the continuous stronghold of Danish water technology.

Full scale testing is possible

Both technological and digital solutions, can be tested and developed at different scales. Our setup allows realistic full-scale tests.

You can work in the physical environment, where Aarhus Vand's experts provide knowledge and relevant access to supply area south with 17000 households, 415 km of pipeline and two waterworks with associated well fields.

District Area South

Testing also within a digital twin

In addition, digital solutions can be tested and demonstrated in a digital twin developed by DHI, which makes it possible to work on a new large scale.

Leak detection field

Water loss and finding leakages is another issue which Aarhus Vand adresses with a leak detection field. The purpose of the field is training and educating in finding leaks in water pipes. Water operators will be met with all the challenges from reality. We offer training sessions for future water operators.

How to get started

Together we define the scope of a new and exciting project.

If you are interested in entering a project collaboration, please contact us. Maybe you already have a project grant but lack test facilities and expert knowledge.
